Bauhaus Luftfahrt (BHL) focuses on “Technology verification in the context of UTM”, providing tools and methods toward the development and virtual verification of drones. To this end, BHL is developing a drone scenario format that can be used to set up a drone simulation environment and execute the scenario through a corresponding scenario runner. In this way, complex situations can reproducibly be described and used in the development of technologies for highly automated drone operations. This includes especially the evaluation of drone capabilities in challenging situations provided by innovative technologies, as well as the testing of conformance with U-Space rules in high-fidelity simulation environments.
